Discover the freedom that comes from painting with a limited palette. Working with fewer colors guarantees harmony in our paintings and creates a more sophisticated look overall. Although this is not technically a color theory workshop, students will learn about hue, value, and intensity by working hands-on with the materials. We will be using R&F Encaustic paints to create a series of small paintings on 300# watercolor paper. A variety of triads will be available for students to 'test drive' so that new and exciting discoveries can be made!

Julie Snidle has been working with wax-based media since 2004. She is a Core instructor for R&F Handmade Paints and an Artist Ambassador for Ampersand Art Panels. Her work has received numerous awards and can be found in private collections and public spaces nationwide. She was recently awarded a Project Space Grant offered by Kolman and Reeb Gallery in Minneapolis."
