The course will explore various techniques for working with porcelain on the potter’s wheel, including carving, faceting, drawing and color inlay. A range of examples that explore porcelain’s potential from contemporary art to historical pieces will be shared. Previous experience with the potter’s wheel and a basic pottery toolkit is helpful. Additional tools will be provided.

Errol Willett is a faculty member in the School of Art at Syracuse University with a primary focus in Ceramics. He is co-owner of the Gandee Gallery with his artist/spouse Jennifer Gandee in Fabius, NY. His work was recently shown in the exhibition “Currents in Contemporary Ceramics,” at the Featherstone Center for the Arts on Martha’s Vineyard.
