We all know that painting with Encaustic is joyous. Just layering up the paint, fusing and scraping can create the most beautiful moments on a panel. But now what? These beautiful “backgrounds” are crying out for a focus, a subject, something that the painting is about. Paper Lithography is a wonderful way to add a simple or very complex image or images to the piece. Using the broad color range of R&F Pigment Sticks as our ink, we can make prints from Laser copies or crayon drawings and fuse them right into the work. The best news may be that if you don’t love the print, it can be wiped away, leaving the original painting ready for another attempt. This technique does not require a press so you can print easily in your home studio. You need this technique in your artistic toolbox for sure!!!
