Have you ever wondered how a list, an email, a snippet of overheard conversation, or even a photo caption, can tell a story? In this short course, we’ll explore the collage form: a dynamic, experimental approach to storytelling that weaves together fragments, “found footage” text, stories within stories, and/or unique structures to create something fresh and deeply resonant. We’ll explore the basics as well as the possibilities through group discussions, short readings, and guided exercises designed to spark inspiration and get you assembling your own collage-style pieces. Whether you're new to the form or looking to shake up your writing practice, this course offers tools and ideas to keep your creative energy flowing.

Amanda Hays Blasko has been published in a variety of literary magazines, including storySouth, West Trade Review, The Tahoma Literary Review, and others. In September 2025, she placed 2nd in Oxmag’s Golden Ox Prose Contest. A graduate of Oklahoma State University’s MFA program, Hays Blasko has held a variety of writing-related positions, which influences her creative work and belief that story can be found anywhere, even in the most unexpected places.
