PAINTING
WITH ROB DUTOIT

Wednesdays & Fridays
9:30am - 12pm

March 20, 22, 27, 29,
April 3, 5

In this workshop, we will work from still life subjects and possibly with a model towards the end of the program. We will work with charcoal on paper alongside the painting to better understand the relation between seeing painting and drawing. The emphasis will be on freedom and exploration and less on making finished paintings. We will start out with tonal studies and then will move on to painting directly with color. We will work with examples of great paintings past and present, many of which most students have yet to see.

Join local poet Keith Althaus to give your existing poems new life over the course of six sessions. This is a a workshop where we read each others’ poems, discuss and comment on them, not just with the goal of improving a particular poem, but of becoming better poets ourselves by learning how others think and listen. Please bring your poems (copies enough for the group).
