Cyanotype is a direct, hands-on, light-sensitive process producing unique and beautifully blue images. In this 2-day workshop you’ll learn how to integrate cyanotype elements on paper and fabric with encaustic based work. On Day 1 participants will have the opportunity to create numerous prints using plants, objects, digital negatives and marks on transparency film. On Day 2 participants will create mixed media assemblage work by integrating their cyanotype elements with encaustic. All cyanotype materials will be provided. Participants are asked to bring wax-primed boards in sizes of their choosing. This workshop is open to artists with prior encaustic experience.

Susan Lasch Krevitt earned her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Exhibiting artwork in the United States, Australia and Europe since 1980, her tactile abstractions embody sculpture and painting. Susan’s work explores structure, connection and transformation through observations of the natural world and the manipulation of materials and process. She was the featured artist in the profile article The Rhythm of the Hand, published in the Winter 2015 issue of Surface Design Journal. Susan currently lives and maintains a studio in Southern California.
