This 1-day workshop will focus on the theory and practice of joining the photographic process with encaustic medium. Participants will learn how to integrate photographic images and wax through techniques such as layering, painting and mark making.
Elena De La Ville is an adjunct faculty at Ringling College of Art & Design, teaches at Wildacres Retreat, Art Center Sarasota and teaches a 3 day intensive encaustic workshop at Ringling. She has recently joined SARTQ, an artist collective in Sarasota, FL and has spent the last 2 months working on a full room installation at the LonBoat Key Center for the Arts. She has been a presenter at 7 Encaustic Conferences. Her practice encompasses photography, textile design, metals and encaustic. She has shown internationally and is part of the collection of the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo, and Museo Acarigua, Araure, Venezuela.
