BUILDING & GROUNDS / FACILITIES MANAGER

Buildings & Grounds Manager is responsible for performing general maintenance on the Truro Center for the Arts campuses, including Edgewood and Castle Hill, general handyman skills, performing janitorial duties, keeping the grounds in order, maintaining the gardens, assisting studio managers for workshop and class set up, and other duties as required. 

Duties Include:

✦ Responsible for the buildings & grounds  at both locations - cleaning, painting, & making necessary repairs

✦ Maintaining equipment and supervising its use

✦ Gardening, watering, pruning, planting

✦ Keeping grounds and all public spaces, i.e. bathrooms, landscaping, parking area in order

✦ Painting floors, walls & all areas as needed

✦ Sweeping, vacuuming, emptying trash for all offices

✦ Fixing, building items as needed

✦ Assisting with Castle Hill events as requested

✦ Cleaning, inventorying and closing the studios at the end of the season

✦ Troubleshooting with tenants or students around maintenance issues

✦ Responsible for preparing studios for workshops (as needed), cleaning up after use, closing down at the end of the day, making sure studios are locked and secured

✦ Special projects, as requested

Qualifications:

­handyman / janitorial / carpentry / gardening / maintenance / landscaping / good with people, working in a team / interest in the arts / good sense of humor

Salary range:

$15.00 – 16.00 dollars per hour based on experience
Monday – Friday, (some weekends) 25 - 30 hours per week.
