We will be looking at choices that range from the creative concept to the right format—defining the key mission statement and filling a need by offering a new take on a subject; Other issues involve knowing your audience and their wants and needs, trying different format approaches, including monologue, panel discussion, one-on-one interviews (see Ruttman’s at larryruttman.com) and writing effective introducing and closing copy. In addition, effective interviewing skills and marketing your podcast with proper professional help will be discussed. Links and resources for basic equipment needs will be provided. Students will be directed to various publishing companies where they can post podcasts for a reasonable fee.

Please bring to class an iPhone with a recording app, or a digital recorder. Class will be meeting at Edgewood Farm.
