Painting water is a great opportunity to work on essential skills in simplification, color comparison, and form conceptualization. At the Pamet River and oceanside, we will work on conveying the space and luminosity of the water plane. Movement from wind and flow, color relationship to the sky, refraction, and dealing with constant change will be considered. Fun studio and outdoor exercises using vessels and objects in water will further our exploration of this delightful and challenging subject. Beginner through advanced--some painting or drawing experience recommended. Teacher will demonstrate in oil; students may work in any color media.
