Collage is a technique of art production where artwork is made from an assemblage of different forms, thus creating a new whole. A hands-on workshop that explores the art of collage making. We will spend the first day looking at the collage works of Cezanne, Picasso, and Matisse as well as a number of contemporary artist who employ collage in their art Corita Kent is a good example of this. The rest of the time will be a hands-on workshop where participants will construct a number of collages that will be available for framing or card making. I will guide participants through a variety of exercises that will encourage them to explore collage from different perspectives. We provide the core supplies (paint, papers and glue) and YOU bring all the trimming (decorative papers, recycled greeting cards, ribbons, candy wrappers and a whole lot more) . This will be an easy-going, come-as-you-are workshop.
