This workshop is suited to students of various skill levels. If you are new to PMC you will learn the basics of working with PMC including texturing, forming, setting stones, adding fine silver to your jewelry prior to firing and finishing techniques. We will be working primarily with PMC+; however, we will also be using PMC Standard, PMC paper, and a PMC syringe. If you are an experienced PMC'er you will learn new techniques: Keum-Boo, Hollow Forms, Draping using hand-made armatures, weaving PMC paper, and making rings. To add a finishing touch to the jewelry we will be using liver of sulfur to add patinas and also using dapping blocks and punches to shape and dome your jewelry. The kiln will be on site. At the end of the week, you will leave with several pieces of fine silver jewelry.

Marissa O’brien has been a student of the arts for many years. Most recently Marissa has turned her creative attention to designing and hand crafting timeless, classic styled jewelry from fine silver, sterling silver, Precious Metal Clay (PMC), and semi-precious beads and stones. Marissa focuses much of her energy on teaching jewelry classes, PMC and chainmaille because this allows her to share her passion with others. Student reviews of Marissa's PMC classes can be found on the PMC Guild web site, www.pmcguild.com. Marissa continues to experiment and learn so she can share this newfound knowledge with her students. Marissa is certified by Rio Rewards PMC Certification Program and The PMC Guild. Marissa has taken classes with Senior PMC Instructors Chris Darway, Celie Fago, and Cece Wire. See Marissa's work at www.brokenbranches.com.

This comprehensive workshop will provide you with everything you’ve wanted to know about working with the mysterious and alluring dichroic glasses. Kiln fusing techniques will be explored including cabochon and bead making. We will make components for use in unique glass-collage jewelry. Glass selection, glass cutting, and fusing will allow each student to understand how the basic color coatings can be combined with each other or with stained glasses to result in a very wide and magical selection of colors and effects. We will create several pieces and will create cabochons ready for bezeling in silver. Those with basic silver skills will be encouraged to bezel and complete silver pendants. All materials will be available from the instructor. If available, please bring glass cutter and breaking pliers. Silver and silver findings will be available at slight additional cost from
instructor.

Dennis Peabody is a Hartford based artist who has experimented and expressed himself with glass for over 25 years. An early user of dichroic glasses, Dennis has produced a popular line of dichroic glass jewelry for 15 years. You can see Dennis’ work at www.peabodystudio.com
