A fun photography class for all ages! Cameras will be created from everyday objects like tin cans and then loaded with photographic paper on which to record images which will come to life using basic darkroom techniques. This is a simple, hands-on way to understand photography that can produce surprisingly dynamic and beautiful images. No previous photographic experience is necessary (although experienced photographers may relish the opportunity to explore and play outside the usual boundaries.) Experimentation will be nurtured and encouraged! An ideal class for parents and kids to take together.

Martin R. Anderson has worked extensively with alternative photography over the past seven years, with over 40 pinhole cameras of his own making. In July of 2005, Martin received a fellowship for a three-week Artist-In-Residency at C-Scape dune shack in Provincetown where he created a portfolio of pinhole landscapes and self-portraits. In 2006, his pinhole photograph, "Paris, Tulieries: Alexandre combatant" won First Place in Art & Antiques Magazine's annual photography contest. After studying art with a concentration on ceramics at the Maine College of Art and Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, she moved to Provincetown in 1998. A 1999 Castle Hill sculpture workshop with Paul Bowen turned her interest towards working with found and reclaimed materials to create lively and unique sculptures. Albert Einstein said that "Imagination is more important than Knowledge."
I would say that the imagination is the portal into the soul. We will use this idea as a way to guide us in creation of our unique fantasy constructions. Have you ever dreamed of building your own nest? Someplace magical and fun that is a true expression of yourself. Together we will use manmade and organic materials to construct a special place of one's own. Come to class with some of your favorite small objects, natural materials and lots of energy. Let's go wild exploring!!!!

Julia Salinger’s varied art career began as an art historian. Her mentor, Irving Sandler, was the preeminent art scholar who wrote 'The Triumph of American Painting. She studied at Columbia University and worked for Ronald Feldman Fine Arts. During this period, she was accepted into the prestigious curatorial program at the Hirschorn Museum in Washington, DC. She has worked at the Cooper-Hewitt Museum of Design, the Guggenheim, The Neuberger Museum and the Whitney. After a few life changing experiences, she decided it was time to nourish her own creative spirit. In 1999 she started to create her own work. 4 Sessions $225

An intro to a few simple materials and a process used in making editions in sculpture. We will begin by developing our skills with hand/eye coordination replicating a three dimensional object, thus creating a new positive.
To follow will be the mold making process. For this we will use plaster to make a two or three part mold over our new object. The third step will consist of taking the mold parts off this positive. We will assemble them together to make a negative or hollow space into which we pour (cast) a liquid hardening when cooled or cured. Wax and hydrocal, a hard, non toxic plaster shall be used. Multiple castings may be possible. Last we will de-mold our new object and give it a finished look. We will keep it simple and fun and learn the process of casting.

George Perez attended the Brooklyn Museum School, NY, Empire State Studio Semester in New York, The Leo Marchutz School of Painting and Drawing, France, and Binghamton University, NY. He worked as a staff member at the Johnson Atelier Art Foundry, NJ, simultaneously casting his own work in aluminum, bronze and iron. George has worked with students at Cornell University,NY, Binghamton University, NY, and the Union Endicott High School, NY/ Keystone College, PA, joint sculpture program.
