Registration Policies & Promotions

 

 


REGISTRATION

Students may register by mail, phone, or website and should assume acceptance unless notified by Castle Hill. Registration confirmations will be sent via snail mail once registration is processed.  Classes are open to students at any level or expertise unless otherwise specified in the course description.

Reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities may be provided in studio classes, on request, if it is readily achievable and does not require a fundamental alternation in the nature of the program.

Registrations are processed in order of receipt. To enroll, please fill out the registration form in this booklet and include full tuition for each class. We accept checks (payable to Castle Hill), Mastercard and Visa.

Special Discounts

Castle Hill is offering several special promotions in order to encourage early registration.  Discounts are only applied to registrations made over the phone.  Please call the office if you would like to register and receive a discount.  Discounts may only be used once and cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount promotions.  Some restrictions may apply. Discounts do not apply for Judy Pfaff, Dan Welden, Stuart Shils and Dorianne Laux.

Early Bird Registration Discount- $30 off all registrations made by April 2nd.

Multiple Workshop Discount- $25 off all registrations after the first week long workshop registration.  Limit $100 per student.

Invite a Friend Discount: A $50 dollar discount is available if you recommend Castle Hill.  Please tell your friend to notify Castle Hill at the time of their registration.  A $50 dollar credit will be issued for a workshop during the Summer 2012 Program.

 

Obtaining Academic Credit

Please notify the registrar at Castle Hill and your academic advisor if you intend to request academic credit for classes taken. An administrative fee of $75 for each class will be added to your registration to cover costs associated with obtaining credit from the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University and Cape Cod Community College.

Educators in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts may take workshops at Castle Hill for Professional Development Points. Please talk to registrar at time of registration

MATERIALS FEES

Materials fees will be charged for classes requiring extra studio supplies. Fees are based on materials used in each class, and are in addition to supplies that you may need to bring to class.  Materials fees are collected before or on the first day of the workshop.  Fees may be less or greater than the range indicated below depending on the class.

Printmaking/Book Arts                 $40 - $70
Photography                                 $10 - $50
Sculpture/Jewelry/Glass            $10 - $90

 

Cancellations & Transfers

Castle Hill reserves the right to cancel any class that is under-subscribed and, in such a case, guarantees a full refund of tuition.

Tuition, less 20% of total cost, will be refunded if Castle Hill is notified of a withdrawal thirty days prior to the start of class. If you cancel your registration less than thirty days before the start of your class, your entire payment will be forfeited.

A $25 processing fee will be charged for all transfers or modifications to workshop registrations.

 

WORKSHOP LOCATIONS
 
The Castle Hill Campus is made up of two main locations. Barn & Tower

The Main Campus, affectionately known as The Barn is located at 10 Meetinghouse Road and is where the majority of classes are held.   It is home to the Castle Hill offices, gallery and library, as well as our painting, drawing, sculpture, jewelry, and ceramics studios.

 

 

Pamet Crossing located at 1 Depot Road is Castle Hill’s second campus situated on the hill behind Truro Center.  Pamet Crossing is the meeting place for many of our off site classes as well as home to the printmaking and writing studios.

 

ACCOMMODATIONS

Castle Hill does not provide housing for students but a list of possible accommodations is available upon request.

GETTING HERE

By Air

This Summer the Cape Cod Regional Authority will continue to run what is called the “flexroute.” It will serve Provincetown, Truro, Wellfleet, Eastham, Orleans, Brewster and Harwich. By Car
Truro is very close to the extreme tip of Cape Cod (one town before). Driving time from Boston is about two and a half hours, from New York about six hours. Follow the directions below by car.

By Water
