Eleventh International Encaustic Conference
June 2, 3, & 4, 2017
An annual interdisciplinary event bringing a community of artists together with gallerists, curators, critics and collectors engaged with wax, printmaking, mixed media, professional practices and more. with Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill and Executive Director Cherie Mittenthal produce the Conference in Provincetown, MA.

For those new to encaustic, we have a series on Friday that introduces you to the basics of painting and fusing, making monotypes, and thinking about the content and intent of your work. If you’re unsure of what you’ve learned in the past, or wish to brush up with different teachers, this is the series for you. Select one event or all, as you feel you need.
For those with an active studio practice, the focus is not so much on how to make the work as how to get it out into the world. We’re offering talks throughout the three days that offer the kind of professional leg up that most artists find only with a mentor.
demos and talks
Between beginner and professional are demos and talks designed to interest artists working at all levels of engagement. We encourage beginners to sign up for talks that help you think about the why of your work as well as the how. And we encourage everyone to think about new processes and ideas to expand your practice.
