December 1, 2009

For all of us who love Castle Hill, there is much to be thankful for this holiday season. Despite hard economic times, Castle Hill has continued to thrive over the past year, offering a rich and varied mix of classes, exhibition, and community events. Once again, we’ve fulfilled our goals, combining quality education with inspiration and a spirit of fun, connecting artists to the community and the community to the arts.

There are many we should thank for this success. Our board of directors provided leadership and guidance that enabled us to cut our budget by 30% while still carrying out our mission economically and effectively. Our dedicated staff worked hard to lower expenses with no substantial changes to our programming. Our enthusiastic team of volunteers worked to make sure our events and fundraisers had the expected Castle Hill panache.

Most importantly, however, we need to thank donors like you, the hundreds of supporters who give so generously over the last year. Your contributions helped us enrich thousands of lives throughout the year, from novices working with watercolor or felt sculpture to galleried professionals exploring the full range of visual and literary arts, from elementary school kids discovering the joys of clay to senior citizens wrestling with the complexities of poetry and memoir.

Now we’re asking for your support again. The costs of providing our classes and programs continue to rise, while membership and tuition cover less than 50% of our operating expenses. Won’t you help? Make your tax-deductible donation today by completing and returning the enclosed reply envelope, by calling 508-349-7511 to donate by phone, or visiting our secure web site at www.castlehill.org.

Your gift will help ensure that the energy and spirit of Castle Hill continues to thrive for another year.

On behalf of all the members of the Castle Hill community, we thank you for your consideration, and look forward to working together to create a memorable 2010.

Sincerely,

zxxx
