Everybody’s got something!

Graphic medicine is an emerging field within the rapidly growing field of narrative medicine. It offers a wide range of documented physical and mental health benefits for anyone involved in their own or someone else’s care. By exploring and recording through words and visual art your experiences as a patient, practitioner, and/or caregiver, you will have the opportunity to frame or reframe your story, gaining perspective, power, and art in the process.  I’ll give you a safe, playful environment and a series of tried-and-true writing and visual prompts along with exercises designed to help you get your experiences into a form where you (and others, if you’re feeling share-y) can “read” them. Our afternoons will include a little lecture/demo, a lot of making with individual coaching/conferencing, along with some discussion and sharing, You’ll leave with a fresh perspective, new friends, and lots of art!
